Dakotaland Child Care Conference set April 5 A Dakotaland Child Care Providers Conference will be held at Roncalli Center on the Campus of Mount Marty College, Yankton, Saturday, April 5.

The conference is open to child care providers, parents teachers and other interested individuals.

Dakotaland Child Care Conference is a one-day conference designed for individuals to share experiences, receive educational training, gain new knowledge, and net work with other area child care providers. All of the sessions are approved for one hour of in-service licensing requirements in South Dakota.

Registration the day of Dakotaland Conference begins at 8 a.m. The keynote address will begin at 8:30 a.m. The conference closes at 3:30 p.m.

Matthew Michels, attorney at law and Yankton County legislator, will present the morning keynote address at this year's conference. A noon luncheon will be provided for participants. Exhibit booths will be available for viewing and exhibitors will be present to answer questions regarding exhibits.

The afternoon will be a continuation of breakout sessions on various topics. Topics include: Childcare: Legal Issues 2003; Child Abuse; Stretch and Grow; SKAT (Safe Kids Avoid Tragedy); Creative Character for Childcare; Children and Food Allergies; Celebrate Everyday: A Year of Activity Fun!; Stop the Ride ? I Want to Get Off!; Once Upon a Story; Creative Needs to Special Children; Relax and Re-energize; and Ooh ? Someone's Got a Boo Boo!

Registration fee for the conference is $23 by March 14. Registration fee will be $28 if postmarked after March 14. Conference information and registration forms are available from the Clay County Extension Office, 605-677-7111.
