King, Mueller earn BB honors Senior Tommie King and sophomore Josh Mueller of the South Dakota men's basketball team earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-North Central Region honors March 24.
King was named to the first team, while Mueller received second-team laurels.
King averaged 22.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game during the 2002-03 season. The Seattle, WA, native ranked second in the conference and 13th in the nation in scoring, posting double figures in all 28 games, and fourth in the league in rebounding. He hit 58.3 percent of his shots from the field (third in the conference) and knocked down 84.9 percent of his free throws (sixth in the conference). His 631 points this season placed him second on the USD single season scoring chart.
Mueller ranked first in the NCC and third in the nation in assists per game with 8.1 as the Coyotes' floor leader. A native of Hartford, he averaged 14.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 steals (second in the NCC) per game. For the season, Mueller dished out 227 assists, which ranks as the best single season total in school history.
Earlier this month, both King and Mueller earned the same honors from Daktronics (King-First Team All-Region, Mueller-Second Team All Region), while duo was also named to the All-NCC First Team.
