University to host annual marathon The University of South Dakota will host its sixth annual Dance Marathon on March 29. This year's Dance Marathon Executive Committee has set a fund raising goal of $20,000 for the Children's Miracle Network. There are 87 dancers registered as of now and they expect about 10 more. Also, there are 16 morale captains and 11 members on the executive board.
Overall Chair Lance Hauser, of Parkston, said "Being able to help out the local community and save the life of a small child is one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have. Through Dance Marathon, a student cannot only fulfill this, but have a great memorable time doing it."
Hauser conducted a "roof sit" March 13 on the east side of the Coyote Student Center roof. Dance Marathon raises money for Children Miracle Network. Hauser has set a goal of $2,000 and will not come down until the goal has been met or exceeded.
Head of Fund raising Alexis Williams said, "This year we are sending out a challenge to campus and community to reach our goal of $20,000. Expect to see a lot of opportunities to contribute to Dance Marathon popping around Vermillion and the university.
