March VHS students of month announced Nick Olson and Maya Ristic were selected as the March Vermillion High School Students of the Month. These two seniors are honored for their leadership in academics an extra-curricular activities with a $100 scholarship from First National Bank � Vermillion.
Olson's athletic skills are highlighted by being named All-State honorable Mention in football as well as All-Conference in both football and basketball. He is in the Honors Program, was selected to the Homecoming royalty, and attended Boys State last summer.
Olson carries a 3.4 G.P.A., and his parents are Warren and Roxane Olson. He plans to attend South Dakota State University to major in electrical engineering.
Ristic "is very helpful and respectful to others in class and out of the classroom," according to her faculty endorsement. She has a 3.6 G.P.A. and her parents are Zoren and Mira Ristic.
Her list of accomplishments include the Vermillionaire editor in chief, tennis team captain and MVP, Outstanding debater at Student Congress, National Honor Society, and runner-up in "Light Entertainment" at the World figure Skating competition. She plans to attend the University of South Dakota to major in Journalism.
