Rawlins Trio plan ‘unusual’ concert

Rawlins Trio plan 'unusual' concert The Rawlins Piano Trio will present an unusual program on Friday, April 25 at 8 p.m. in Farber Hall on the USD campus. The concert will feature guest violist Fei Chen. Born in China, Fei is the principal viola player of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra and plays in the String Quartet. He will join the trio for a performance of Brahms Piano Quartet No. 3 by Brahms. This is a highly autobiographical work that reflects on Brahms' love for Clara Schumann.

Playing a quartet is something of an unusual feature for the trio, and to highlight the novelty, the other works on the program will feature the members in a variety of combinations, starting with a solo, duos, a trio, and finally, the quartet. The concert is free and the public is invited to attend. For information, please call 677-5725.
