Simons on All-Academic team Brad Simons, senior at Vermillion High School, was recently named to the South Dakota Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Wrestling Team. The minimum requirements needed is for the individual to be a senior varsity wrestler and must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, which Simons has exceeded throughout his high school career.
Simons finished his senior year as a state qualifier at the 215-pound weight class with a 26-19 record. His varsity career record is a respectable 57-55. Simons is a two time state qualifier who has brought leadership to all levels of the Vermillion Wrestling Program.
He has donated his time to assist his head coach with the instruction at the different wrestling club levels during the school year and throughout the summer. He was also a member of the 2002-2003 All-Academic Football Team.
His leadership and motivation will be sorely missed next year. Simons will be attending college at the University of North Dakota in the fall.
