Micheal Gillispie, instructor of marketing in the USD School of Business, accompanied the students to New York City. Dr. Kumoli Ramakrishnan and Dr. Angeline Lavin, USD professors of business, are the faculty
advisors for FMA.
"Dr. Ramakrishnan and I initiated the New York trip in 1999 to give USD finance students a chance to experience the center of the global financial markets firsthand, by visiting the stock exchanges and other financial institutions in New York," said Lavin. "The trip gives students an opportunity to network with successful USD alumni, visit Fortune 500 firms, and experience trading on the exchanges by visiting both stock exchanges as well as the market makers who facilitate trading on the exchanges. It is our hope that the students come away from the trip with more knowledge about their chosen field as well as more enthusiasm for their future careers."
Students attending the New York trip include Jaclyn Mount of Vermillion.
