VHS boys lose tennis match to Mitchell by Jim Prosser Tanager head boys' tennis coach Nick Hovden didn't lose his enthusiasm in his evaluation of his team's play in the match against the Kernels from Mitchell on Friday, April 11.
"I was pleased with our overall performance," he said. "Our number two singles player was absent and Dan Day played a nice fill in match for us, but it might have been a different outcome if Geng Wang was there."

"Ryan Powell, eighth-grader, made his varsity debut and played a tough doubles match with Holoch which unfortunately ended in a loss," Hovden said. "Our players in general must be more mentally tough in order to win close matches, and that aspect of our game just isn't there, right now. It will develop with a little more practice and time."
