VHS claims third in Booster Club invite by Jim Prosser The Lennox Orioles felt right at home by scoring 162 points to take first place in the VHS Booster Club Earlybird Invitational on April 12.
Other team places were: Madison, second, 118.6; Vermillion, third, 80; West Central, fourth, 73; Harrisburg, fifth, 41.2; Dakota Valley, sixth, 30.6; Tri-Valley, seventh, 28.6; and Alcester/Hudson, eighth 13.
Field events results for Vermillion were:
Discus � Jordan Anderson, third; shot put � Kellen Cusick, third, and Anderson fifth; high jump � Jared Hesla, third. B.J. Campbell was third in the 100m dash. The 3200m run had Justin Manning coming in second.
In the relays, the 4x200m had a first place finish, timed at 1:37.5 with runners Campbell, Cusick, Bart Miller, and Ben Oberle, while the 4x100m team placed second (Campbell, Miller, Brown, and Oberle). In the 1600m relay the Tanagers came in second (Miller, Brown, Cusick, Oberle). The 4x800m team won first in 8:36 (Miller, Brown, J. Manning, and Craig Powell). Another first place was registered in the medley � time 3:55.3 (Campbell, Cusick, Oberle, and Brown).
