Aerospace career camp scheduled ACE Camp 2003 will be held July 13-17 on the campus of South Dakota State University and is open to all students enrolled in grades 9-12 for the 2003-2004 school year. The 10th annual Aerospace Career and Education Camp provides an inside look at careers in aerospace, and at the education needed to pursue those careers.
Activities include in-flight training, hot-air balloon rides, tours of S.D. Air National Guard, and U.S. Geological Surveys EROS Data Center, Big Sioux Aviation in Brookings, Business Aviation in Sioux Falls, an air ambulance, star-grazing, and several other aviation/aeronautics related facilities.

The application deadline is June 17. Tuition is $225, and includes room, meals, instructional materials, transportation during camp, in-flight training (weather permitting), a hot air balloon ride (weather permitting), one evening's entertainment, and a t-shirt. Tuition assistance is available. Camp sponsors are the South Dakota Space Grant Consortium, which is funded by NASA, and the Office of Aeronautics with the South Dakota Department of Transportation.
The Yankton Regional Aviation Association (YRAA) will be providing half-tuition assistance to two students from southeastern South Dakota. The YRAA has provided half-tuition scholarships to 20 students over the past 11 years.
The South Dakota Pilots Association (SDPA) will be providing scholarships to two students, one from East River and one from West River. The SDPA has provided scholarships to 14 students over the past eight years.
