American Legion Auxiliary names essay contest winners

American Legion Auxiliary names essay contest winners by Bethany Parvin Students in grades four through eight at Wakonda School took the challenge and wrote essays for the American Legion Auxiliary Essay Contest.

The topic for this essay was "What America's Future Holds for Me."

There is one first place winner and two honorable mention winners in each grade. Fourth-grader Roxanne Polley was selected as the first place winner, and her classmates Jordan Nelson and Greg Peterson both received honorable mention.

The sixth-grade's first place winner was Lane Stockland. Arron Ness and Meghan Book received honorable mention. The seventh- and eighth- graders were placed together. Bo Martz was the first place winner; honorable mention was awarded to Patrick Morrison, Jessica Vollmer and Katie Sokolowski.
