CCCS seminar helps families purchase homes Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Lutheran Social Services South Dakota (CCCS) and Planning and Development District III (District III) are pleased to announce a successful start to attaining their goal of helping 50 Bon Homme and Yankton County families achieve homeownership.
Home Buyers Express (HBE) is a six hour seminar offered by CCCS that provides participants with information and resources on the entire home purchase process. The education is funded through a USDA Rural Development grant, administered by District III.
Ten families have taken the HBE class since September 2002, and have qualified for a District III incentive of $250 to assist with closing costs on their new homes. Participants must also meet South Dakota Housing Authority or Rural Development Guidelines to qualify for the District III incentive program.
Classes are ongoing through Sept. 30. Any person or family considering a home purchase should avail themselves of the opportunity for the education to demystify the home buying process so they may realize their dream of homeownership. For more information or to register for an HBE seminar, call CCCS (toll free) 888-258-2227 or District III at 665-4408.
