Legion Auxiliary meets April 16 Wakonda American Legion Auxiliary Gingrich-Dixon Unit #13 of Wakonda met on Wednesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wakonda Heritage Manor with nine members present. The secretary and treasurer's reports were given with a balance on hand of $657.82.
A thank you was read from the Wakonda Summer Rec and a letter was read from District President Sybill Hotchkiss. There was no old business.
New business: Discussion was held on Poppy Sales � we will have them available the month of May in businesses, at school programs and at the Memorial Day dinner.
We will also be setting up a display of the area servicemen/women who are on active duty. The display will be placed in the First Premier Bank; anyone who would like to add a picture to the display is to contact one of the auxiliary members.
A nominating committee of JoAnn Ganschow and Pat Girard was chosen. The Poppy Posters were not available for judging. Meeting adjourned and lunch was served. The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 21, 7:30 p.m. at the Heritage Manor.
