Local students graduate May 9 Three hundred sixty students graduated from Mitchell Technical Institute in annual commencement exercises held Friday, May 9, at the Corn Palace. Graduates from this area included: Charles Miller, electrical construction and maintenance; Robby Hughes, heating and cooling technology; and Benjamin Hays, satellite communications. All three are from Vermillion.
Joel Anderson, son of Bob and Barb Brockevelt, has successfully completed a level I college preparatory curriculum for Iowa State University. Anderson will be receiving $20,000 over the next four years. Recipients of the award must have completed one year of calculus, three years from among biology, chemistry, and physics, three years of a single foreign language, a GPA of 3.3 or higher, and an ACT of at least 28 or SAT I of at least 1240.
