Nursing home week celebrated across S.D. Nursing homes across South Dakota will be celebrating Nursing Home Week beginning Mother's Day, May 11 and continuing through May 17, with the theme "Reflections of a Lifetime."
The South Dakota Health Care Association (SDHCA), along with American Health Care Association (AHCA), encourage residents of South Dakota to celebrate nursing homes' accomplishments and efforts to improve the quality of life for our state's seniors.
Governor Mike Rounds has issued an executive proclamation and declared May 11-17 as
Nursing Home Week throughout South Dakota.
Mark B. Deak, SDHCA executive director, said, "National Nursing Home Week gives us an opportunity, as a community, to celebrate our focus on quality with residents, staff, families and volunteers. Contact your local nursing facility to see what activities are planned."
The South Dakota Health Care Association is a statewide not-for-profit association, representing nursing facilities and assisted living facilities that provide long term care to the citizens of South Dakota.
