NYSP will be held at DakotaDome The HPER Division of The University of South Dakota is sponsoring the NYSP (National Youth Sports Program) again this summer at the DakotaDome. This program is for both girls and boys ages 10-16. This is a free program and each day includes one swimming session, three other sports sessions (taught as a life-time activity � not for competition) and two educational sessions (drug and alcohol abuse prevention and lifetime achievement activities). The participants are furnished free transportation to the camp and home again, a free small breakfast mid-morning and a lunch before departing.
Participants in Elk Point will be able to catch the bus around 8 a.m. each morning at the Elk Point Auditorium and will be returned to the auditorium around 2 p.m. This program is open to all children in that age group. The physicals for the boys are May 29 and the physicals for the girls are May 30 with the program starting June 2 and ending July 3. There also will be a free family day at Prentis Park in Vermillion for the participants and their families on the June 28. Applications are available at the school your child attends.
