Tanager girls have field day at Yanktons QB Club Relays by Jim Prosser Eight schools were represented at the Yankton Quarterback Club Relays last Friday, May 9, contested at the middle school track: Brandon Valley, Dakota Valley, Huron, Lennox, Mitchell, O'Gorman, Vermillion, and Yankton.
No team points were recorded but the Tanager girls' track team had some good results in several events:
Field events: Anne Carlson placed fourth in the high jump, fifth in the long jump, and second in the triple jump.
Lindsey Kenton came in second in the 100m hurdles and third in the 300m hurdles. Carly Bernard was seventh in the 300m hurdles.
In the dashes, 100m � sixth, Nicki Nelson; 400m � fifth, Michelle Rasmussen; Distance runs, 800m � third, Rasmussen. 4×100 relay � third (Jenna Gilkyson, N. Nelson, Heather Heine, Carlson); 4×200 relay � fourth (Brittney Gilkyson, J. Gilkyson, Heine, N. Nelson); 4×800 relay � third (Morgan Brooks, Kati Dehner, Katarina Gombocz, Kayla Mollet); medley relay � second (Nelson, Heine, Gilkyson, Brooks)
The sophomore or younger competitors had the following results for the Tanager girls:
The 800m run had Katarina Gombocz in 10th; Sarah Plate came in second with a time of 6:28.68 in the 1600m run; in the 3200m run, Emily Renner placed second timed at 13:55.2; Brittany Weydert was fourth in the 300m hurdles; and Jaque Smidt tossed the shot put 31'1" for a fourth place.
