Tanager girls participate in rescheduled Lennox invite by Jim Prosser On Tuesday, April 29, the Tanager girls' track and field team competed with six other schools in the make-up Lennox Invitational held at the LHS Sports Complex.
The field events included a fifth/sixth finish for Jacque Smidt and Joelle Mulder in the shot put. The Tanagers' Anne Carlson again scored points in four events, placing second in the triple jump, third in the long jump, and anchoring the fourth place 4×100 relay, with Jenna Gilkyson, Nicki Nelson, and Heather Heine as other members of that team. She also led off the 4×400 relay team.
Linsay Kenton placed third in the 100m hurdles. Michelle Rasmussen was third in the 400m dash, and second in the 800m run. Kayla Nelson was sixth in the 3200m run.
The 4×800 relay team was fourth (Morgan Brooks, Kati Dehner, K. Mollet, and K. Nelson); and third place was claimed by the 4×200 relay team (J. Gilkyson, N. Nelson, H. Heine, and Brittney Gilkyson).
The 4×400 relay team finished in sixth (Carlson, Brooks, Carley Bernard, and Colette Joy).
The Tanager girls' team totaled 53 points for fifth place. Lennox, Parker, Dakota Valley, Canton, Freeman, and Parker were the other teams in the meet.
