VMS boys track competes at Lennox by Jim Prosser The seventh- and eighth-grade triangular track meet involving Lennox, Harrisburg and Vermillion was held Tuesday May 6 in Lennox. Final team were not tabulated.
The placers for the VMS eighth-grade boys were: high jump � Bobby Dykstra, first, 5'2"; long jump � Dykstra, fifth, Ryan Gilbertson, sixth; shot put � Nick Rasmussen, fourth; discus � Rasmussen, third, Andrew Pearson, fourth.
In the dashes: 100M � Highrock Fischer, Heine and Pearson finished third, fourth, sixth; 200M � Fischer, first :26.22; Gilbertson, second, and Heine, third; 400M � A.J. Manning, fourth; 1600M � A.J. Manning, first, 5:16.
The 4×100 relay team placed first, :53.56, with members Heine, Gilbertson, Dykstra, and Fischer.
VMS seventh-grade placers were: Field events: long jump � Cody Miller, second; high jump � Daniel Storm, first, 5'0", Casey Carlson, third; Mikal Ustad, sixth.
The 110M hurdles had Ustad in second and Carlson in third, with Alex Anderson-Kahl in sixth.
In the dashes: 100M � Storm, second; Miller, sixth; 200M � Miller, first, :28.94; 400M � Daniel Storm won in 1:05.4 and Broc Gauer was second.
Distance runs: 800M � Gauer, second; Carlson, third; 1600M � Carlson, second, and Ustad, fourth.
The 4x100M relay team of Miller, Josh Johnson, Anderson-Kahl and Storm finished third.
