VMS girls track compete with Lennox, Harrisburg by Jim Prosser Vermillion's seventh- and eighth-grade girls' track teams faced Lennox and Harrrisburg May 6 in an unscored triangular meet.
The placers for the eighth-grade girls were: long jump � Annie Roche, first, 13'2.5"; high jump � Annie Roche, second, and Josie Kabambi, third.
In the 100M hurdles, Annika Sjolie, Kinsey Weydert and Bethany Sand placed third, fourth and fifth.
In the dashes: 100M � Roche, first, 13.58; Josie Kabambi fourth; Kristina and Ariel Hofman, fifth; 200M � Kinsey Weydert, second; Shannon Robinson, fourth and Annika Sjolie, fifth.
In distance runs: 800M �Katarina Gombocz, second; Sarah Rasmussen, third; 1600M � Gombocz, first, 6:04.8;
Rasmussen, third.
The 4×200 relay team of Kristina Blythe, Sjolie, Kabambi, and Weydert placed third.
First place also went to the 4×100 relay team of Roche, Blyth, Weydert, and Hofman.
The seventh-graders had placers in the following: shot put � Shalita Bartlett, second; Kayla Anglin, third; discus � Bartlett, first 63'3"; Anglin, second; long jump � Kelly Miskimins, fifth; Dykstra, third; 100M hurdles � Rachel Odens, second; Brittany Bye, fourth; Stacy Bottolfson, sixth; 100M dash � Alicia Brown, first, 13.37; Miskimins, second; Alexa Walker, third; 200M dash � Brown, first; Walker , second; B. Bye, fourth; 400M � Odens, third.
Long distance runs: 800M run � Sara Bye, fourth; Erin Rasmussen, fifth; Sasheen Thin Elk, sixth; 1600M run � Erin Rasmussen, fourth; Thin Elk, fifth.
The 4×100 relay placed first, 58:48, with runners Brown, Miskimins, Walker, and B. Bye. Those four runners also won the 4x200M relay in a time of 2:03.
B.Bye, Rasmussen, S. Bye, and Bottolfson were the members of the 4x400M relay team which finished in third place.
