Bad weather shortens FNB-Vermillion's game by Jim Prosser On Thursday, June 5, FNB-Vermillion faced the Yankton Dodgers in a rain shortened contest at Sertoma Park.

After 2 1/2 innings, with the score FNB 15 and Dodgers 4, plus stormy weather threatening, the game was terminated. Line score: FNB 6 hits, 15 runs, 1 error; Dodgers 6 hits, 4 runs, 6 errors.

Winning pitcher was Jesse Kirkpatrick who was credited with 2 Ks and 1 BB in two innings. Hitting leaders were: Casey Carlson � 2 singles; and Nick Rasmussen with a double. Travis Miller, Jeff Donnelly, and Alex Anderson-Kahl each were credited with a single. The FNB season record is 2-0. There are two teams from Vermillion and three teams from Yankton in the area Babe Ruth baseball league.

Games are played at Prentis Park in Vermillion or fields C & D in Sertoma Park at Yankton, and are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays ending on July 28 with the championship.

It is hoped that the Vermillion Parks and Recreation Department and Vermillion FNB will be furnishing team stats and results during the season.
