Youth get hooked at fishing tourney by Jim Prosser On Monday, June 23, Vermillion Parks and Recreation and The Bluffs Golf Course hosted the first annual Bluegill Heaven Tourney.
Thirty-two participants, ages 5 to 15, were entered in three divisions with the following results:
5-8 years
Sam Craig � longest bluegill, 8.5".
Autumn Barnett � most fish.
9-12 years
Mike Oberle and Andy Liu � longest bluegill, 9".
Nick Mart � most fish.
13-15 years
Darren Martin � longest bluegill, 7.5".
Megan LeCates � most fish.
Fun was had by all, and a special thanks was extended to Hy-Vee and the Broadcaster for their donations.
