Cornstock in the Park offers fun for everyone The fourth annual Cornstock in the Park will bring a variety of activities to Wakonda on Aug. 9.
From cars to fireworks, this year's event offers entertainment for all ages. Music is also scheduled for the day and no one will go hungry as the food and beverage booths will open at noon.
The schedule includes:
10 a.m. � Volleyball tournament begins ($5 registration fee per team member).
Noon-3 p.m. � Bingo.
Noon-4 p.m. � Car show ($1 admission. Vote for your favorite car); Food booths open; Kiddie train; Inflatable jump house. $5 bracelet includes unlimited train rides and inflatable jump house. $10 bracelet includes unlimited train rides/inflatable jump house with games and relay races � prizes given.
Noon-6 p.m. � Craft fair (free admission).
Noon-midnight � Refreshments will be served under the tent.
1 p.m. � Children's games/ relay races for preschool to age 8; Tug of war ages 9 and up ($1 entry fee per person, five-person teams, with cash prizes awarded to the winning team)
1-3 p.m. � Live remote with KVHT.
1-4 p.m. � Dunk tank (three throws for $1); Free face painting/balloons for the kids; Free swimming races with prizes awarded.
5-7 p.m. � Barbecue supper (free will donation).
Musical entertainment includes:
3-5 p.m. � Open Stage.
5-6 p.m. � 2 1/2 Danes.
6-7 p.m. ��White Lightning.
7 p.m.-midnight � Crystal Bleu and Midnight Special dance on the tennis court.
Dusk � Fireworks display.
No coolers are allowed in the park on Aug. 9.
