Jennifer Dickenson in Twin Cities production The Mounds View Community Theatre in Mounds View, MN, is pleased to have Jennifer Dickenson of Vermillion in this summer's production of The Boyfriend.
This light-hearted musical has been a delight to audiences since it was first presented in 1954 in London and on Broadway starring a 19-year-old Julie Andrews.
It is a show of innocent love, frivolous flirtations and one of the happiest romantic endings of any show.
Set on the French Riviera in the 1920s, it is a boy meets girl story. One of the best parts, the flirtatious Maise, is played by Dickenson. She is featured in Safety in Numbers where her talent really shines. All the complications and confusions required are included, woven together with catchy tunes, period dances and a winning sense of humor.
Dickenson is the daughter of Ross and Sandy Dickenson and is a 2001 graduate of Vermillion High School.
She is familiar to area theater-goers having appeared in many local productions.
She is best known for her role of "Rizzo" in the VHS production of Grease, and as "Carmen" in the Lewis and Clark production of Fame.
Dickenson has a double major in theater arts and global studies at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. In September she will start her junior year in India studying street theater.
The Boy Friend runs July 18 to Aug. 3. Mounds View High School is at 1900 Lake Valentine Road in Arden Hills.
