All kits were sent to area military personnel as a way of saying "we remember and recognize your service to our country." Twenty local members, leaders and parents assisted with the packaging and writing of personal messages on May 17 at the Clay County 4-H Center.
The 4-H "I Care Kits" were funded in part by the South Dakota 4-H Foundation, Clay County Youth Trust Fund, Clay County 4-H Clubs and area businesses.
The kits were shipped to members of the Vermillion National Guard Unit with assistance from Betsy Mortensen, Vermillion.
