S.D. schools to receive $7.3 million On July 15, South Dakota public school districts received $7.3 million. The money is part of the $15.1 million increase to K-12 education that Governor Rounds signed into law earlier this year.
HB1191, passed during the 2003 legislative session, authorizes the Department of Education to distribute up to $7,307,896 of the excess state aid money from the 2003 fiscal year to the state's public schools .
The per-district distribution amounts will be based on the schools' 2001-02 unadjusted Average Daily Membership.
