Wakonda softball team plays doubleheader The Wakonda softball team traveled to Yankton to play the Yankton Angels.
The first game ended in a tie, 11-11. The leading batters for Wakonda were Andrea Bakke with a double and Chelsa Bohlmann, Catie Ganschow, Jessie Stockland, Tiffany Ganschow, Jessica Peterson, who all had singles.
In the second game, Yankton won 11-6. The leading hitters for Wakonda were Stockland with a home run, Bakke with a double, and Tiffany Ganschow with a single.
Wakonda hosted Canton. Canton won 14-2. Ashley Anderson had a double and Bohlmann hit a single.
Canton won the second also, 10-0. Bohlmann hit a single, Brook Williams hit a single, and Kayla Poncelet contributed with two singles.
Wakonda will host Gayville-Volin next. The coaches thank all the parents and fans for their support.
