Dendinger inducted into Naval Academy Navy Midshipman Thomas Dendinger, son of Cynthia and William J. Dendinger of Vermillion, was recently inducted into the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, and will begin six weeks of Plebe Summer at the academy.
This demanding, fast-paced orientation begins four years of preparation for commissioning as Naval or Marine Corps officers. During Plebe Summer, Dendinger will learn basic skills in seamanship, navigation, infantry drill, sailing and markmanship. Dendinger will also receive instruction and indoctrination on the Brigade of Midshipmen's Honor Concept. At the end of Plebe Summer, Dendinger will be ready to join the rest of the brigade when the academic year gets underway this fall.
