While things were going to the dogs, literally, at the Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center last Wednesday, some observers tried to maintain order. Tiffany Kuester, daughter of Maria Olson, held Allyson Holdon, daughter of Kari and Chad Holden, Vermillion, to give her a close look at a litter of squirming chocolate lab pups. Emma and Maya Schmidt, daughters of Troy and Veronica Schmidt, made sure the young dogs didn't tumble out of the wagon. Dave and Amy Thiesse brought the pups to the center Wednesday to participate in a dog show. Several people from Vermillion and the surrounding area brought their dogs to participate in a fun competition and visit with the center's residents.
