Survey shows gas prices increase AAA's monthly fuel gauge survey shows the state-wide average price of gasoline in South Dakota has increased about nine cents in the last month to $1.639 per gallon. The state-wide average a month ago was $1.549.
The average price of gasoline in Sioux Falls is at $1.598, up 7.7 cents from last month, while the Rapid City average has increased 10.9 cents per gallon to $1.713 during the same time period.
Nationwide, the average price of gasoline is at $1.609, up 8.1 over last month. Around the Midwest, average gas prices are: North Dakota, $1.67; Minnesota, $1.60; Iowa, $1.56; Nebraska, $1.62; Wyoming, $1.60; Kansas, $1.61.
The highest state-wide average cost of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.08 in Hawaii, while the state with the lowest average is South Carolina at $1.45.
