VAST in state meet

VAST in state meet The 2003 State Long Course Championship was held in Brookings on Aug. 1-3.

Three hundred-thirty swimmers from 19 teams in South Dakota participated.

The Vermillion Area Swm Team had two individual state champions, Bailey Pons and Justin Manning.

Team results are:

11-12 Girls: Karissa Martin, second 50 back, third 50 breast, fourth 400 free, 100 back, fifth, 100 breast sixth 200 IM and eighth 200 free; Bailey Pons: first 100 back, 400 free, third 200 free, fourth 100 free, 50 back, fifth 200 IM and 100 fly.

13-14 Girls: Erin Rasmussen second 1500 free, fourth 400 free, 800 free, fifth 100 fly, seventh 50 free, 10th 100 free, 12th 200 free.

17-18 Boys: Justin Manning first 1500 free, 800 free, 400 free, 100 free and 50 free, second 200 free and third 100 fly.
