Wed May 31 Paula Bruening and Brian Girard were married May 31 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lesterville, with the Rev. William Osborn officiating.

Parents of the couple are Robert and Mary Jo Bruening, Lesterville, and Roger and Karen Girard, Wakonda.

Maid of honor was Mary Ellen Bruening, Yankton. Bridesmaids were Kristi Baker, Sergeant Bluff, IA, Kelly Kathol, Gayville, Brenda Wright, Yankton, and Becky Bierle, Yankton. Flower girl was Taylor Kathol, Gayville.

The bride's personal attendants were Sarah Vaith, Wakonda, and Pam Bruening, Crofton, NE. Flower pinners were Janet Sayler, Yankton, and Lisa Weier, Tyndall. Roxanne Ellinger, Lesterville, attended the guest book.

Brandon Girard, Wakonda, was best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Bruening, Lesterville, Howard Kathol, Gayville, Virgil Wright, Yankton, and Jason Miller, Yankton. Ring bearer was Jordan Kathol, Gayville.

Ushers were Randy Bruening, Lesterville, Brian Baker, Sergeant Bluff, IA, Kyle Wright, Yankton, and Ken Girard, Wakonda. Wedding music was provided by organist Sue Bruening, St. Helena, NE, and vocalist Kim Drotzman, Yankton.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lesterville Community Center with Terry and JoAnne Schramm, Yankton, and Paul and Deb Dummer, Lesterville, as hosts. Punch was served by Jan Sivertson, Yankton, and Angela Jorgensen, Volin. Cake was served by Pat Girard, Wakonda, Helen Mueller, Fresno, CA, and Sharon Tramp, Crofton, NE.

The bride is a graduate of Scotland High School and Mount Marty College. She is employed at First National Bank South Dakota.

The groom is a graduate of Wakonda High School and Mitchell Technical Institute. He is employed at Baldwin Filters.

The couple resides in Yankton.
