Big Friends-Little Friends, Inc. seeks youth and adults The youth mentoring program Big Friends-Little Friends in Clay and Union counties has an immediate need for youth and adults.
In Vermillion, there are four adult females ready to match with girls age 7-13, and three adult males are ready to match with boys age 5-14. All volunteers are screened, and matches are made with the child's interest and needs in mind. The youth mentoring program is supported in part by the United Way of Vermillion, as well as private, individual and businesses. Major contributors to this year's program are Iam's, Chesterman's, Pepsi of Siouxland, Palmer Candy Company, Aaladin Industries-Elk Point, the Elk Point Commercial Club, Vermillion Knights of Columbus, Jones' Food Center-Elk Point, First Federal Bank-Elk Point, the State Bank of Alcester, the United Way of Vermillion, the Elk Point ESA Chapter, the Elk Point Lion's Club, Mix 106 Radio-Vermillion, and CMI/Load King of Elk Point. Numerous individuals also made contributions to the youth mentoring program. The program is entering its seventh year as a non-profit agency, serving youth in Clay and Union counties.
