Block party New and current students at The University of South Dakota participated in the "Coyote Bash," New and current students at The University of South Dakota participated in the "Coyote Bash," a huge block party in downtown Vermillion, held Sept. 2 following the annual convocation ceremony at the university. Headlining the "Coyote Bash" was the well-known Sioux Falls band, Spooncat!, which performed from noon to 3 p.m. Local businesses served hot dogs, chips and pop to help introduce USD students to the variety of shops located downtown. In addition to the live music, ROTC sponsored a rock climb and the Coyote Theatre offered matinee shows. The first day of class at the university was Wednesday.
