MADD organizational meeting set for Sept. 18 The Vermillion Police Department is sponsoring a meeting to explore the feasibility of chartering a Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) chapter for the Vermillion/Clay County area.
An organizational meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Vermillion Fire/EMS station, located at corner of E. Duke and N. Dakota Streets in Vermillion. Information will be shared regarding MADD and how citizens can become involved in the non-profit group.
According to the Vermillion Police Department, there have been 250 arrests made for underage consumption in 2003. This is a 32 percent increase compared to all of 2002. The Driving While Intoxicated arrests for 2003 equal the same figures for 2002.
