Mount Rushmore announces fall hours Mount Rushmore National Memorial Superintendent Don Striker has announced that schedule changes for the fall season at Mount Rushmore will take effect beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The Lincoln Borglum Museum and the Information Center will both be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the winter months. The historic Sculptor's Studio will close for the season Sept. 30. Although the last evening lighting program will take place Sept. 30, the sculpture is illuminated, at dusk, throughout the fall and winter.

In conjunction with the Autumn Expedition, Sculptor Peggy Detmers will be demonstrating her carving techniques in the Lincoln Borglum Museum on Monday, Sept. 29 through Saturday, Oct. 4 from the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hours at the Mount Rushmore Concession will also change effective Oct. 2. The gift shop will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Food service will be available from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The ice cream and fudge counter will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
