Nominations sought for Retailer of the Year Award The South Dakota Retailers Association is seeking nominations for the Retailer of the Year Award.
The award is presented each year to a retail store owner or manager who consistently provides outstanding customer service and is also actively involved in the community. People who own or manage a retail store are eligible.
"The Retailer of the Year Award presented by the South Dakota Retailers Association is more than a plaque for the office wall and a handshake," says SDRA Awards Committee Chairman Jim Ellenson of Redfield. "This honor is achieved only through sound business practices that over time have led to continued growth and success."
Prior winners of the award have come from every size of community in South Dakota, and they have operated businesses as diverse as clothing stores, grocery stores, computer stores, appliance businesses, hardware stores, shoe stores, gift shops, restaurants, implement dealerships and pharmacies. Finalists for the award receive a Certificate of Distinguished Service.
Nominations for the Retailer of the Year Award must reach the retailers association office by Nov. 14 to be considered. A committee of retailers from throughout the state will select the winner, and the recipient will be honored at the SDRA Awards Banquet in Pierre in January.
