Vermillion Tanagers host cross country triangular by Jim Prosser The Vermillion cross country triangular included Lennox and Yankton competing on Friday, Sept. 5 with both varsity and JV boys' and girls' divisions. Team points were not computed.
The boys' varsity division had 22 runners: Lennox had #1 and #2 finishers (Doug Galbavy � 17:00 and John Kuiper � 17:05) Justin Manning was the Tanager's best runner, crossing the finish line at the old golf course in Vermillion in the 11th slot with a clocking of 19:27. Chad Teigen, Casey Carlson, Matt Preszler, A.J. Manning, Mitch Bierle, Craig Powell, and Caleb Berry ran 16th thru 22nd in that order. Yankton was led by Matt Yaggie and Ben Fiedler who placed third and fourth, followed by Sean Fitzsimmons, Jon Williams, and Sam Dannenbring.
For the varsity girls, Raamsey Kavan (Y) came in first with a 15:12 time. The Tanager's depleted roster placers were: Katarina Gombocz � 8th(17.51); Emily Renner � 10th; Theresa Ring � 14th; Tera Dehner � 20th; Sarah Plate � 22nd; Nicki Nelson � 24th; and Lindsey Isaacson � 25th.
The Tanagers had no participants in the girls' JV division but the boys' JV division had 17 entries with Vermillion fielding an incomplete team. C.J. Harden placed 8th; and Raleigh Tiahrt � 17th.
