Bye scores 20 straight points On Oct. 4 the Vermillion eighth-grade girls' volleyball team traveled to Canton for a tournament.
They defeated Canton 2-0, won against Parker 2-0, defeated Lennox 2-0 and lost in the third game to Tri Valley 22-25, 25-21, 13-15. On Oct. 6 the Vermillion team hosted Elk Point-Jefferson. The D team won 21-15, 21-17. The C team split games with Lennox and West Central and lost to Madison. The B team split games with West Central and Madison and defeated Lennox 2-0.
On Thursday, Oct. 16, the eighth grade volleyball team was host to Yankton. Brittany Bye scored 20 straight points to help the A team win 25-1, 25-17, and 15-8. The B team was also victorious winning 25-21 and 25-20.
The C team was lost the first game, won the second game and lost in the third game. The D team won both games 25-13, 25-21.
The Tanagers will play in the Yankton tournament on Oct. 28 to finish out the season.
