Wakonda volleyball wins one and loses one by Nicole Mosberger The Wakonda Warriorettes volleyball team battled with the Gayville Raiderettes Tuesday, Sept. 23. In an amazingly long match, the Raiderettes came away with the 3-2 win in conference play.
The games went back and forth the whole night. The teams rallied on a long 210 total points with many long rallied points.
Dominating from the service line for the Warriorettes were Erin Spurell with four aces, Emily Logue with three, and Kim Henriksen with two.
Nikki Johnston led the kills with 18, followed by Henriksen with 15, and Tiffany Ganshow with two.
Chelsa Bohlman set up 100 kill assists, followed by Ashley Anderson with seven kill assists.
When the opponents had the ball, the Wakonda wall kept most of their aces out Tiffany Ganshow led with 12 solo blocks, followed by Henriksen with 10, Johnston with seven, and Kelli Morrison with seven solo blocks.
On the defensive side, Henriksen led the digs with 28, followed by Johnston with 18, Logue with 13, Ganshow with 11, and Lindsay Nelson with 10 digs.
Wakonda took on the newly formed Tea Titans on Sept. 25. The Warriorettes came through with a win and blew Tea out of the water from the beginning. The score was 3-0.
Emily Logue led service aces with eight, Erin Spurrell with seven and Chelsa Bohlman with four.
The leading scorers for kills were Nikki Johnston with nine, Kim Henriksen with five, and Bohlmann with four.
Bohlman was on fire leading with 39 kill assists.
Leading with digs were Henirksen with 15, Lindsay Nelson with five, Jessica Peterson with five, and Johnston with four.
Johnston also was on fire and kept the ball out of Wakonda territory with seven solo blocks.
