Book Fair coming to Wakonda's library by Ally Eckert Looking for a great place to get some holiday shopping done? Wakonda Public Library will be holding a Book Fair from Wednesday, Dec. 3 to Tuesday, Dec. 9. It will be open every day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday night from 5 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Book Fair will also be open before and after both the high school and elementary concerts on Dec. 4 and 8. Checks, cash, and credit cards will be accepted.
Along with the Book Fair the Wakonda junior class will be selling baked goods and raffle tickets for a chance to win a DVD player.
The Book Fair is not only a place to buy books. There will be miscellaneous gifts such as pens, pencils, journals and diaries, crayons and posters. There are also gift certificates available.
Some of the books that will be available are Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and the reissue of many of the original Goosebumps series.
The Book Fair also benefits the school and library. Every classroom will get a class wish list which they can fill out with books that the class might want. If anyone wishes to purchase any of those books they go to the classroom. All profits from this will go to the library. "I would highly appreciate anyone who comes out to support the library," said librarian Angela Grieder.
Every class will also be coming down to the Book Fair on their own in case their parents can not come.
If anyone would be willing to help out with the Book Fair please contact Grieder.
