‘Friends of Education’ honored

'Friends of Education' honored In honor of American Education Week, Nov. 16-22, the Vermillion Southeast Retired Teachers paid tribute to P.K. Holmes and Deb Coaker for their dedication and commitment in helping children in education.

Holmes volunteers at Jolley School assisting in the third grade classroom three times a week. Coaker sews, designs, and does fitting for costumes used by the VHS Rhythm in Red Show Choir. She also travels to all show choir competitions with the group as a chaperone.

In appreciation for their services, Mary Geffre Johnson, president of the Southeast Retired Teachers, presented the honored guests with framed certificates. Robert Bowker, Jolley School principal, spoke briefly about volunteer services to the Vermillion School System, and how they have helped students.
