Guinan earns first Panhellenic award Kristin Guinan, a freshman from Blair, NE, has been awarded the first ever University of South Dakota Panhellenic Scholarship.
The $500 scholarship is awarded to a graduating female senior who applies in the spring. Applicants are judged based on their exemplary leadership and service during their high school years.
While a student at Blair High School, Guinan served as president of Future Business Leaders of America, vice president of National Honors Society, was a cheerleader, played French-horn in the band and participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
"I was very excited and honored to receive this award," she said. "The scholarship will really help me pay for some of my college expenses."
Guinan is a new recruit in the Alpha Phi sorority, is enrolled in the University Honors Program and is a participant in the Students Interested in Free Enterprise (SIFE) group. She is the daughter of Tom and Kelly Guinan.
