It's official The holiday shopping season has officially arrived in Vermillion. The holiday shopping season has officially arrived in Vermillion. Santa Claus made an early stop to the city Friday and flipped the switch to light up the Christmas decorations that adorn trees and street lamps in the downtown shopping district. Friday marked the beginning of the city's "Come Home for the Holidays" shopping promotion that continues through next month. The next holiday events on tap include the Candlelight Tour of Homes on Dec. 5, and the W.H. Over Christmas Festival Dec. 7.
