Veterans Day services are scheduled for Tuesday Vermillion will honor its military veterans with special Veran's Day services on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. in the W.H. Over Museum, 1110 Ratingen Street.
Andy Howe, VFW post commander, will be master of ceremonies. Dorothy Neuhaus of the W.H. Over Museum will talk briefly about a military display at the museum.
The invocation will be given by the Rev. Sandy Aakre, a major in the S. D. National Guard.
Erna Carlson of the American Legion Auxiliary will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Carrie Christensen and the audience will sing God Bless America, accompanied by Deb Christensen.
Miss Christensen will also sing another patriotic selection later in the program.
The Veteran's Day address will be given by Major Roy Mortinsen, MD of the 109th Area Support, South Dakota National Guard.
The ceremony will conclude with a benediction given by Aakre, and flag raising by Darrell Christopherson.
The VFW Vermillion Post firing squad will present a rifle salute to honor the dead, followed by Taps played by Jaycy Henderson.
Refreshments will be served following the program.
