Hasselstrom to hold book signing Saturday Noted South Dakota author Linda M. Hasselstrom, keynote speaker for The University of South Dakota Winter Commencement Exercises on Saturday, will hold a book signing at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore in the Coyote Student Center on the USD campus in Vermillion.
The Coyote Student Center is located at the corner of Rose and Cherry Streets.
Hasselstrom will be available from noon to 1 p.m. for signing of her newest non-fiction book, Between Grass and Sky: Where I Live and Work, as well as several of her other titles.
"I consider myself a perpetual student of American Western history, culture and ecology," Hasselstrom said. "I read constantly. I write to learn and for the sheer enjoyment of following words wherever they lead, whether in poetry or nonfiction.
"I consider my primary responsibility to be working to preserve the territory I love, including not only the land but its inhabitants, human and otherwise, and their stories. My writing is my primary labor and my own stories are part of the chronicles I record."
