New foundation at Manor focus of annual meeting The annual meeting of the Wakonda Heritage Manor was held Nov. 24 in the all purpose room at the Manor.
The feature of the meeting was information relative to the formation of a foundation at the Manor. Jerry Soholt, executive director for the Avera Health Foundation, gave an interesting and informative presentation on the basics of a foundation.
The governing board of Heritage Manor had unanimously approved the formation of a local foundation at last month's regular board meeting.
A more detailed meeting will be held later after more of the basics for the local foundation have been implemented. Currently there are over 30 foundations operating under the umbrella of the Avera Health Foundation.
Twenty-five people were present for the meeting which began with a 6 p.m. supper. This marks the 24th year of operation for the local health care facility. Reports were received from the administrator and the auxiliary. Mike Nelson was elected to another three-year term on the board.
