USD Head Start gets $358K grant

USD Head Start gets $358K grant Sen. Tom Daschle announced today that the Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $358,015 grant to the University of South Dakota to continue Head Start and Early Head Start programs and services.

"Head Start programs provide thousands of children and families with the early care and education that is the foundation of future success," said Daschle. "I am pleased that the Head Start centers at USD will continue to provide these important services."

Head Start funds help local organizations provide comprehensive early childhood development programs to enhance the health, education and nutrition of economically disadvantaged children and children with disabilities. Head Start also works with families to enhance parental involvement.
