"I'm excited about our team this year," said Coach Mark Upward. "Ariel has started off where she finished last year in spite of an injury during the summer softball season. Sarah Christopherson has picked up her performances on vault, floor and bars. We still have things to add to her routines that will make them even better as we go along.
"We have competed on only three floor exercises for the first two meets, so our team score is about six points below where it should be. Eighth- grader Rachel Lorenz is working on her routine and should be ready for the Wagner invitational."
Upward noted that the Tanager gymnastic team doesn't have much depth this year, but they are working hard and will do well in February.
