Brandon resident earns employee of month award Kay Roth of Brandon, has earned the December Career Service Employee of the Month Award at The University of South Dakota.
Roth, the secretary for the Department of Internal Medicine, was honored recently during a reception at the Health Science Center in Sioux Falls. University of South Dakota President James W. Abbott presented Roth with a plaque and a check in honor of the award.
In support of Roth's nomination, her supervisor wrote that Roth "is totally committed to the department, the medical students and the faculty. She is relentless in her pursuit of perfection in her work product and personal productivity, has an exemplary work ethic, creates 'win/win' outcomes, and is trustworthy, flexible and fun!" Her supervisor also said that Roth "is hands down the finest co-worker I have ever had the pleasure of working with."
Roth said she was surprised by the award.
"I didn't expect it since I've only been here 17 months," she said. "It was a great day."
Her co-workers, however, were not surprised. One department member who received help from Roth, praised her, saying "This was Kay's first year and everything came together flawlessly."
Roth and her husband Todd reside in Brandon. They have two children, DeAnn, 19, and Matthew, 17.
